Hi, my name is Layla and whenever I have anything worth saying, I slather it into a song. I’ve been writing poems since I was 10 then I learned how to play the guitar when I was 12. Words + Music together! What a concept! It was like eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for the first time.
But it takes time and practice for the elements to come together. The peanut butter’s texture has to be just right; the strawberry (or grape) jelly has to be the right sweetness.
At this point in my life, I am not getting paid to write songs, so meanwhile I am writing about other things. And since I am an MBA student, I work a full-time job, and I probably have as much drama in my life as the next person, I have enough to write about. So I hope you will enjoy my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and other word morsels I slap together. I welcome your comments, positive and negative (I’ll cry in private)
